No more "problems" with this mini poster

I've got 99 problems, but math ain't 1.
I couldn't help myself ;)
It bothers me so much that we call them math "problems". There is just such negative connotation that immediately erupts from that word. Unfortunately, decades of teaching not to mention all of our math text books are riddled with the word "problems".
In our classroom, we call them "scenarios" and "solutions". It has a much more positive spin doesn't it?

It almost sounds like a mystery or story- a scene, if you will. To tag onto this, I've created "My Scenario & Solutions Strategy Poster".

This poster will stay in their binder. Each time we solve a scenario, we note the strategy, the scenario of when it might be appropriate, and an example solution.
Feel free to download this FREE poster. Copy it front and back on something sturdy (like cardstock). Or have students keep it in a sheet protector in their binder to pull out and add on as needed.
Share with friends and focus on what matters most... B
